Robert James Nisbet

Robert James Stewart Nisbet passed away on October 20, 2018 at the age of 84. His memorial service was held on Saturday October 27, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Chris Dowdeswell officiating.  Robert was born in 1934 in Swift Current, and resided his entire life in the Flats District, NW of Swift Current. He attended the Flats School and completed his high school in Swift Current. Following highschool, he worked part time as a telephone lineman. In 1951, he became a full time farmer with his father, Hugh, and brother, Walter. He married Joy Arm on January 13, 1962. They had four children. He followed his passion and farmed his whole life. He was an active member in his surrounding community and the community of St. Stephen's Anglican Church. He passed away suddenly October 20th due to a farming accident. Robert is survived by his children, Lois Nisbet-Wall (Russell Wall), Vivian Hay (Kam Hay), Gavin Nisbet and Daniel Sundown Nisbet; grandchildren, Marshall Hay (Jessica Hay), Graham Hay (Alicia Craig), Andrea Wall (Kelton Braun) and Logan Wall; sisters-in-law,  Anne Nisbet and Marj Tranburg; and numerous nieces. Robert was predeceased by his wife, Joy Nisbet; parents, Zoe and Hugh Nisbet, and brothers, Ian Nisbet and Walter Nisbet. Donations in Robert's memory may be made to St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 108 2nd Avenue NE, Swift Current SK S9H 2C7.
