Frances Baskerville

It is with great sadness that the family of Frances Maren Baskerville, age 87, announce her passing on Thursday, September 19, 2018 at the Cypress Regional Hospital, Swift Current, SK.  Frances was born May 11, 1931 to Hiram & Bertha Yake, the youngest of seven children. She married twice; first to Lloyd Thoreson 1951 and then to Samuel Baskerville 1975.  Frances raised three children Douglas, Orville and Wanda. Frances lived most of her life in and around Gull Lake; she lived briefly in Treherne MB. and Swift Current as well as on her parent's farm next to the Delta School near Verlo.
Many will remember Frances as the cashier at Busse's Store in Gull Lake, where she worked for 13 years.  She also was a waitress at Wong;s Cafe, Texaco and Esso Restaurants.  Frances enjoyed playing cards (Bridge and Crib) and dining out with friends and family, especially Sunday night dinners with the "girls".   Friends and family will remember her delicious baking, most especially her pies.
Frances lived independently in her own home until the last days and took pride in her ability to maintain her house and yard with a little help from kind neighbours.  Her routine included daily walks with stops at local businesses where she would chat with staff and friends.
Frances was predeceased by her first husband Lloyd and second husband Sam; her parents, Hiram and Bertha, sister Jacqueline and brothers, Doward, Fredrick, William, Kester and Desmond.
Frances is survived and will be missed by her children, Douglas Thoreson, Orville Thoreson (Lynne), and Wanda Stephens (Dave); her grandchildren, Kirsten (Robert) and Tiffany Thoreson (Curtis), and Sean (Annie) and Melissa Stephens (Thein) and great grandson, Henry Bell: and by her nieces and nephews.
A family graveside service for Frances will be held on Friday September 28 at 1:00 pm at the Verlo Cemetery.  The family invites all who knew Frances to join them at a Celebration of Life at the Gull Lake Elks Hall from 1:00 - 3:00 pm on Saturday September 29, 2018.
Frances would like her friends and family to know she lived the life she chose and she had a good life. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to your favorite Charity.
