Amy Hanson

Amy Helen Hanson (nee Bulbeck) passed away peacefully with family by her side, on September 15, 2018 at The Meadows in Swift Current. Amy was born on the family farm in Neidpath, Sk on February 10, 1926. Amy met the love of her life, George Hanson of Neidpath, and was married on October 11, 1947.  Amy and George had three children, a son Garth, and twin daughters, Lanette and Linda. They lived in the Neidpath area until 1966 when the family moved to Swift Current.

In December of 1983, Amy's husband George passed away. Amy had almost 35 years without the love of her life.

Amy had a green thumb as she had a passion for gardening and flowers. Amy also loved to bake. She had a special place in her heart for each of the 5 grandchildren and her many great grandchildren.

Amy is survived by her three children, son Garth Wehrfritz-Hanson (Julianna) and granddaughter Anna (Colin); daughter Lanette Schwartz (Allan), grandsons Marc (Kristi) and Darrin (Jamie); and daughter Linda Hanson (Kevin Fisher) and granddaughters Tara and Maren (Doug), as well ten great grandchildren.  She is also survived by two sisters, Marion Millar of Swift Current, and Velma Berg of Medicine Hat; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Bulbeck of Swift Current and Joyce Bulbeck of Medicine Hat, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Amy was predeceased by her parents, Frederick and Helen, husband George, as well as six siblings and spouses.

The family of the late Amy Hanson wish to thank Dr. Val and all of the nurses for the excellent care she received at the Palliser and at The Meadows the last 10 years.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society of Canada, the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation or St. Olaf Lutheran Church would be appreciated by the family.
