John "Jack" Main

John Reginald Main  - July 21, 1935 to September 27, 2017.  Jack was born in the Bonogofski house in Abbey, Saskatchewan and lived his entire life in the Abbey area.  He attended Roe School south of Abbey until Grade 8. He farmed until he retired in 1972 and moved into Abbey.  Jack enjoyed helping out on the Jacklin farms and later took great pride in his rock polishing, painting and coin collections. He enjoyed touring Saskatchewan, learning about geology and astronomy, and greeting visitors to the Prairie Health Care Centre.  As a private person, Jack showed a quiet and genuine pride in his family. He is survived by his wife Mary, his children Marci (Tom Steele), Mark (Sheryll), Jeff (Debbie); his grandchildren Skyler Lewis (Allison Gothard), Thomas and Jason Main, Nathan and Mackenzie Main; brothers- and sister-in-law Gordon Jacklin (Gloria), Garth Jacklin (Leanne), Fay Powell (Morgan); nephew and nieces Mariah and Athena Jacklin, Jodi-Lynn Jacklin, and Shayne Powell; great nephew and niece Dylan and Isabelle Powell. He is predeceased by his father Rex Main, his parents-in-law Margaret and Keith Jacklin, and brother-in-law Roy Jacklin. 

A private family graveside service will be held in Abbey on October 13 at 1:30 pm followed by a reception at the Abbey Business Centre at 2:30.  In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the Saskatchewan Schizophrenia Society, the Prairie Health Care Centre, or charity of your choice.
