Douglas Andrew Obituary

Doug was born November 24, 1929 in Aneroid, Saskatchewan to Lloyd and Gen Andrew.  He lived the biggest part of his life in Aneroid going to school and tagging along with his Dad on the dray.
He played ball and hockey as well as curled for a large part of his life.  When he finished school he went into the reserves and was stationed in Camp Borden.  They were just getting ready to ship out and the war ended.
In 1950 he married Patricia Payne and they lived in Aneroid later having three children, Dawn, Kevin, and Kirk.  He remained heavily in sports, played sax in an orchestra, coached ball and hockey.  He and Pat curled and belonged to the Legion as well as the Elks.  He  was very active in the community work and taking care of the cemetery.  They spent summers at the cabin at Lac Pelletier.  He taught all of us to water ski behind his boat.
Sadly in 1975 their son, Kevin, passed away.  They farmed until he and Pat retired and moved to Swift Current.  When Pat passed away Dad moved into Riverview Estates and remained till he passed.
Doug was survived by two children: Dawn (Claude), Kirk (Sharon), grandchildren: Jason (Crystal), Robert (Val), Kristie (Wade), Jackie, Brandy (Trevor), and Joe, Seven great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, brother Rod (Deb), sister in law Judy (Don), and sister in law Eleanor, and numerous nieces and nephews and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Lloyd and Genevive Andrew, brother Robert Andrew, son Kevin Andrew, wife Pat Andrew, and numerous in laws and extended family members.
There will be a Celebration of Life on March 16, 2024 at the Riverview Village Estates from 2:00pm - 4:00pm in the Great Room.  A private family internment will take place at a later date.  Those wishing to make donations may do so to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 56 - Memorial Donation.
