Peter Griemann

GRIEMANN: Peter of Swift Current, SK passed away on January 27, 2018 at the age of 88 years at the Meadows, with his children by his side. He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters Barb (Doug) Foy of Sylvan Lake, AB, Lori (Grant) Wittrock of Pennant, SK and son Gary Griemann of Cold Lake, AB. He was the proud grandpa of nine grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Pete leaves one sister Susie (Bill) Marsh of Welwyn, SK; three brothers Herman (Muriel) Griemann of Chilliwack, BC, Henry Griemann of Moosomin, SK and Will (Judy) Griemann of Red Deer, AB; brother-in-law Bob (Val) Duce of Red Deer, AB; and many nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his wife Irene in October 2009; daughter-in-law Connie Griemann; his parents Mike and Katherina Griemann; sister and brother-in-law Mary and Alfred Rederburg; sister-in-law June Griemann; parents-in-law Fred and Eleanor Duce; sister and brother-in-law Ev and Bud (Harold) Logel; and nephew Jack Logel. Pete was born in Vibank, SK on March 25, 1929. His family moved to the Old Welwyn district where they farmed for many years. He worked for Santer's Farm Equipment as a mechanic until he, Irene and family moved to Swift Current in 1974, where he was farm equipment sales manager for Jay Dee Equipment for many years until he retired in 1995. After retirement he enjoyed taking great care of their yard, garden and wood working in his shed in the back yard. He thoroughly enjoyed playing his weekly bridge game and cheering on the Broncos for 20 plus years. After selling their home of 36 years, Pete moved to the Bentley, then a brief period at Cypress House and then the Meadows until his passing. Pete's memorial service was held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from the Chapel of Warren's Funeral Home with Peggy Worrell officiating. The interment service will take place at Welwyn Cemetery at a later date. In memory of Pete, donation may be made to the Welwyn Cemetery Fund P.O.
