Albert "Ab" Carleton

Albert (Ab) Carleton, age 94, of Swift Current SK, passed away on November 9, 2017 at Swift Current. The graveside service was held at 2:00 p.m. on November 14, 2017 from Memory Gardens Cemetery with Peggy Worrell officiating. The interment service will be held in the spring at Memory Gardens. Albert is survived by his wife of 65 years, June Carleton; his son, Larry (Myra) Carleton; daughters, Pat (Randy) Hlady and Barb (Randy) Sauder; brother, Elmer (Alwyne) Carleton; sister, June Wiskar; and 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; sister, Doreen Hussey and brother Mel Carleton; brothers-in-law Keith Robbins, Cloyd Hussey and Cy Wiskar; sisters-in-law, Francis Robbins and Gladys Carleton; and grandson, Christopher Sauder. Albert was born in Swift Current on November 20, 1922 and attended Neville School. He married June Robbins on November 12, 1952 in Swift Current. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force during WWII and following the war, was a life-long farmer, continuing to own a little piece of land right up to his passing. He was a life-long Legion member and a member of the United Church. He was an avid spectator to hockey and rodeo, travelling several times to the Calgary Stampede. Ab was 11 days short of his 95th birthday and 3 days short of his 65th wedding anniversary. Donations in his memory may be made to the Parkinson Society of Saskatchewan and to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 56 - Memorial Donations.
