Lavonne Pittman

Pittman: Lavonne Mae age 89 of Kyle, SK passed away on October 7, 2017 at the Cypress Regional Hospital with family by her side. The Memorial Service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, October 13, 2017 from the Kyle Elk's Community Hall with Reverend Jim MacNaughton officiating. The pianist was Darlene Smith, soloist was Connie Day, eulogist was her grandson Cody Pittman, and ushers were Ron Smith, Michael Mutlow, Dieter Gillanders, and Kali Gillanders. The urn bearers were Lavonne's grandchildren, and honorary pallbearers were all those who shared in Lavonne's life. The Interment Service took place from White Bear Cemetery. Lavonne leaves to cherish her memory, her husband Clifford of 66 years; son Doug (Carol) of Kyle, SK and their children Chad (Jen and Haaken) and Kayne (Jamie, Trigg, Joss, and Wynn); son Darcy (Roberta) of Calgary, AB and their children Cody (Laura) and Megan; son Wayne (Marilyn) of Kyle, SK and their children Jeremy (Monica, Ariela and Oliver), Rory, and Tyler; daughter Heather (Brent) Moberg of Swift Current, SK and their daughter Marissa; sister Joyce (Russell) Gillanders of Kyle, SK; sister-in-law Virginia Pittman of Kyle, SK; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Frank and Ellen Douglas; twin sister Yvonne; brother Darcy; father and mother-in-law Isaiah and Emma Pittman; and brothers and sisters-in-law Marie and Currie Pegg, Hazel and Roly Mutlow, and Donald Pittman. Lavonne was born in Gull Lake, SK on April 4, 1928. She was united in marriage to Clifford Pittman on July 20, 1951. She was a member of the United Church, Order of the Eastern Star and Kyle Wolly Mamoth Good Sams. Lavonne's hobbies were sewing, knitting, scrapbooking, family histories, and camping with Cliff in their fifth wheel trailer, with their last camping trip being to Manitou Beach at Watrous in September 2016. Manitou Beach and Clearwater Lake were amoung her favorite places. Lavonne grew up on the family farm at Verlo, SK, and went to teachers collage in Moose Jaw, SK which led her to settling in the Kyle-White Bear district as she came to teach grades five through eight in White Bear from 1947 to 1951. Lavonne and Cliff lived on the Pittman family farm from July 1951 to November 1975, when they relocated to town in Kyle. Lavonne was a very kind, caring, generous, hard working person who took great pride in all aspects of her life and will be fondly remembered by all.
